April 27, 2011 Tornado Response

HEMSI was instrumental to every facet of emergency management during the unprecedented tornado onslaught responding to over 300 calls for service, putting additional crews and ambulances into the field, assisting with search and rescue, providing emergency field operations supervision, staffing liaison officers at hospitals to track incoming patients, as well as providing mutual aid to Cullman and Marshall Counties.  Throughout the extended response and recovery period, HEMSI employees answered the call to serve the community tirelessly – many not going home for several days.

HEMSI-CaresCaring for the Community

As part of the "HEMSI Cares" program, employees donate toys at the annual Christmas party each year for families in the area.  With ambulance lights flashing, a crew delivers an ambulance full of presents to eager children.
